We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

No idea how many books I read a year. But some good ones old and new I've recently picked up are: - The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by Tolkien - Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez - The Story of O by Pauline Reage - The Plague by Camus (an absolute favorite) - A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle (a children's book but I adore it) - The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield - The Means of Reproduction by Michelle Goldberg (fascinating book on reproduction rights) hope you can enjoy some of these although you've probably read a few!

Thank you for your list, I have read all of those books, thank you for sharing.

What do you think of Christians, being allowed to protest that a mosque is wrong, or that we should be able to sing christmas carols through a neighborhood without offending anyone, or that we should be able to knock on people's doors and spead the word of our savior, The Lord Jesus Christ?

Apparently, like all things in the political spectrum there is a right or left approach, I stand on the side of reason and not because it’s some sort of pussy stand to this topic.

For those who believe in the Constitution this is simple, the First Amendment covers this, allowing any crackpot with whatever holy-book of your flavor to practice what ever the fuck you want to practice.

For those who believe that this is a christian nation, actually this is a Melting Pot of many religions, many backgrounds, many races, and many ideas. For this Melting Pot to work we need to stop trying to change everyone to our liking. When did the Melting Pot go from a fine blend to super fucking chunky? I understand Christians, you think the bad guys are winning, but not everyone is going to think like you. Quit setting up God on blind dates with people he has nothing in common with.

We have reached a level of entrenched civilization where you can actually keep to your own kind, if you like, within a larger society, with different moral standards than your own, and it does not in any way endanger your survival within your social group! It’s a miracle!

If someone has a problem with a company don’t offer them your business, it’s that simple.

I actually believe in the Christian concept of “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you” more than most so-called Christians seem to, and I don’t want other people telling me how to live our lives… Possibly because I don’t think so highly of myself as to think my life choices are necessarily the penultimate ideal of human behavior, so I wouldn’t presume to force my way of life down everyone else’s throats “for their own good”.

I reblogged your post about books with what I've read so far this year and recommendations. If you were seriously asking for recommendations, you should check it out. Loved the post. Have a great day. :)

Thank you, I really did want to know what people are reading these days, and I am always looking for something good to read, I average a new novel a day. Thanks for your response and I will check out what you have been reading.

“We must find out what words are and how they function.
They become images when written down, but images of words repeated in the mind and not of the image of the thing itself.”
—Billy Burroughs

“Anarchism is not a romantic fable but the hardheaded realization, based on five thousand years of experience, that we cannot entrust the management of our lives to kings, priests, politicians, generals, & county commissioners.” —Edward Abbey

“The State is the curse of the individual… The State must go! That will be a revolution which will find me on its side. Undermine the idea of the State, set up in its place spontaneous action, and the idea that spiritual relationship is the only thing that makes for unity, and you will start the elements of a liberty which will be something worth possessing.” —Henrik Ibsen
